• Deep, Clear Lakes: Fish that spent June and July roaming open water are finally starting to slide up and relate tighter to structure. However, a major key right now is deep sand grass. Many fish are holding in 20+ feet of water directly over these sand grass beds.

Topwater bucktail action is also heating up, but remember to adapt your retrieve depth if you are fishing clear, deep water.
• Pro-Tip: When graphing the mud flats, slow your boat down. Cruising at 14 mph instead of blowing by at higher speeds will allow your electronics to actually mark the life and bait suspended over the mud.
